New York City Breaks Visitor Record for the 8th Straight Year

We were never buyers on last year's predictions that political headwinds in the U.S. would dramatically impact demand for international business travel and the MICE industry.

Well, we were right. According to the city, overall tourism in 2017 grew by 3.8 percent with domestic tourism growing at a rate of 3.9 percent and international tourism growing at a rate of 3.4 percent. That is the 8th straight year New York City has broken its own record.

This is also leading to more hotel options for destination meeting planners, and the city's inventory has now crossed 116,000 rooms.

The newest hotels opening in 2018 provide world-class tech options, highly artistic decor throughout, exciting food and beverage options, and cool spaces that encourage networking.

We are seeing surveys that show these deliverables are exactly what companies are looking for in destination meetings, which they say leads to quantifiable ROI.
